The Sacandaga River provides us with family fun 7 days a week, all summer long! It’s just 10 minutes from Lake George and is easily accessible for thrill seekers that are looking to spend part of the day on the water. The “Sac” has 3.5 miles of dam released Class II-III whitewater. With a minimum age of 5, almost everyone can enjoy New York’s best 2 hour whitewater rafting trip.
The Sacandaga is an affordable adventure for families or those looking to dip their toes into whitewater (you’ll be hooked afterwards, trust us). For full day Class III-IV whitewater rafting in NY, check out our trips on the Hudson River.
So much fun. We went with kids between the ages of 7-12. As usual, the guides make the trip. The guides with Beaver Brook were outstanding. Liam was the guide who took us down the river, and he was awesome– funny, knowledgeable, kid and adult friendly and seemed to really enjoy being out on the river with us. All of the guides in the other rafts seemed great as well. Would absolutely recommend and cannot wait to come back.
