Labor Day and back to school may be right around the corner, but there’s still one week left of our Adirondack summer! If you want to get a few more adventures in before the leaves start falling, Beaver Brook has got your back. We shut down operations on The Sacandaga River as well as the Canoe, Kayak and Tube Center after Labor Day Weekend, but there’s still one more week to get after it! Keep reading for ideas on last minute summer day trips.
For a low-key day with a little paddling, a little swimming, and a little picnic action, we recommend our Canoe & Kayak Center. The Lower Hudson is a mellow paddle great for seasoned and new paddlers alike. This section of river is not heavily trafficked (unless we’re counting wildlife), and has tons of places to explore and splash around. All rentals include a shuttle and necessary gear, so all you need to do is show up with the appropriate clothing.
Though our Hudson River Rafting day trips run until Columbus Day, we shut down operations on The Sac after Labor Day (there are some exceptions to this–if you have a large group give us a call). If you’re looking for something to do in Lake George on Labor Day Weekend, The Sac is a great bet. Two hours gets you a Class II-III trip down family friendly whitewater. The Sac has some over the bow splashy waves, a great swimming section, and it’s super affordable if we do say so ourselves.
Before the water gets chilly again, hop in! A lazy river tubing trip on the Lower Hudson is just what the doctor ordered when it’s warm outside. Sit back, relax and take in the view from your riverside lazy-boy. All rentals include a PFD and shuttle.
